Board-Certified Dermatologist | Wake Forest & Harvard Trained
Dr. Brianna De Souza is a board-certified dermatologist known for her expertise, warmth, and patient-centered care. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, after completing her undergraduate studies in Health Science and Spanish at the University of Miami. Subsequent to receiving her doctorate degree, Dr. De Souza completed her dermatology residency at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where she served as both Chief Cosmetics Resident and Chief Quality Improvement Resident, and has completed advanced research fellowships in hair and scalp disorders at Harvard Medical School and Wake Forest Dermatology. She is the winner of the Women’s Dermatologic Society Aesthetic Research Mentorship Award and the Kennedy-Hopkins Scholars Award. Dr. De Souza is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Skin of Color Society, the National Medical Association, the American Hair Research Society, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Dermatology Focus
Dr. De Souza’s expertise is in general, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. One of Dr. De Souza’s favorite aspects of dermatology is the opportunity to make a significant impact on patients’ lives, by addressing medical, surgical and cosmetic concerns. From complex skin diseases to preventative care, the variety of cases keeps her engaged and continually learning. Dr. De Souza is motivated by the chance to treat each patient with the same care and attention she would offer to a family member, fostering a sense of trust and comfort. She enjoys treating skin of color, hair loss and hair shaft disorders, and hyperhidrosis. Her guiding values include compassion, diligence and integrity, all of which inform her clinical practice and enable her to deliver personalized, comprehensive care.
